HOREMOW's Linda Rika "Knows" Whose Names Are in Book of Life

Most of you know by now that I have written a few articles regarding some serious issues and concerns about HOREMOW, the worldwide holiness movement based in Nigeria, which is led by Paul Rika and his wife Linda. Today I would like to share some things that a sister in Christ in Kenya shared with me. She wrote:

"I attended one HOREMOW meeting one Saturday...and was very tempted to join, but something is holding me back. I don't know what it is. I'm very afraid of getting myself into bondage...I witnessed a strange thing in the meeting, and it bothered me, including being told I have to rededicate my life to the Lord afresh, and hearing someone praying to the 'God of HOREMOW'. These are not Scriptural. I told them I have to seek God to know whether to join.

"I was already planning a 3-day dry fast last weekend, and I did not major on praying for this, but I did ask God about it. But one of my fasting days I dreamt that I was with Nigerian men who were giving me Nigerian food to eat. They told me it is 'hot' as Nigerians put a lot of chili in the food, and I said I did not mind and ate it. When I woke up, I was horrified. I know being fed any type of food in a dream is witchcraft. I prayed against it, but I wondered why Nigeria.

"I prayed against it, and a few days later I spoke with a servant of Jesus I respect from Tanzania, and he told me that dream is connected to me attending the Nigerian church I attended the previous week. (He doesn't know HOREMOW.). He had told me not to be quick to attend any churches or meetings and to wait on God. He helped me pray to renounce anything that happened there and to repent for disobeying the Lord and going there when I did not hear from him.

"The teachings of Paul Rika are wonderful to be fair. He knows how to teach God's Word and make one desire holiness. But I'm troubled by the statements of them being 'the last ark' or him being a 'savior', and also the endless revelations sister Linda receives of people's name in the book of life or out of the book of life and being shown eternal destiny of members of their church etc. There's too much detail of who made heaven and who went to hell, which can lead to discouragement and also feeling like if you leave HOREMOW you're doomed for hell.

"I know God speaks through prophecy but....either God has chosen her with a very unique calling, because I've never seen that level of revelation before, or something is off...I never want to offend Jesus by speaking against his servants...I do not believe Jesus would choose one man to lead everyone to heaven. It seems off and unlike how He works because the world has billions of people and Jesus has given gifts to all his kids. Something is strange.

"HOREMOW seemed to have a balance of Word and Spirit, but I still see some extreme of exalting one man and woman, and yet they say it is Jesus who had chosen Pastor Rika and who is leading this movement."

To anyone who is still considering joining this movement, I hope this has helped you to realize that the issues and concerns with HOREMOW have not gone away. They continue to persist, and you should very carefully wait upon the Lord to direct you regarding any decision to join that movement.

Do You Want to Know Him?
If you want to know Jesus personally, you can. It all begins when you repent and believe in Jesus.  Do you know what God's Word, the Bible says?

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, ‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.’” (Mar 1:14b-15).  He preached that we must repent and believe.

Please see my explanation of this in my post called "Do You Want to Know Jesus?"

Sid Roth Interview: Is there a Once Saved Always Saved? Will there be a 2-State Solution for Israel?

Dear saints,

This is my response to an interview that Brandon did on his Last Days Youtube channel with our beloved brother Sid Roth. You can view the 45-minute interview at this link. Brandon did a great job with it and so did Sid. Let me share a few things about it here, along with some of my relevant articles.

Pray Without Ceasing and Be Thankful
I agree with Sid that we need to pray without ceasing and be thankful to God every day, as the Word teaches us to do (1 Thessalonians 5:16-17). I covered that in my article called Whatever You Do, Do All Like This.

Praying in the Spirit in Tongues
I also agree that every believer who is truly born again is eligible to receive the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues (Mt 3:11; Lk 11:13; 24:49; Ac 1:5,8, 2:38). I agree that praying in tongues (1 Cor 14:2,4-5), otherwise known as praying in the spirit (1 Cor 14:14-15; Eph 6:18; Jude 1:20), is one of the best ways to pray without ceasing.  Let me encourage you to read my articles, Baptized with the Holy Spirit and The Gift of Speaking in Tongues.

Baptism with the Holy Spirit and Fire
Brandon asked Sid how he stays on fire for God, and Sid mentioned these things that I just covered above, emphasizing the importance of remaining on fire for God. He also said that in the first-century Church, they all received the baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire on the Day of Pentecost. It's true. However, I'd like to add that these days, even many who've received the baptism with the Holy Spirit have never received the baptism with holy fire. I was one of those people until 2012, when I received the holy fire baptism, and the Holy Spirit began to do the most amazing, supernatural things in my life once I got the holy fire. Please read my article called Holy Fire Baptism. There are so many naysayers out there who deny the holy fire as being truly from God, so if you are one of those, then please see my series called The Holy Fire Series, which will clear that up for you.

Daily Repentance
Sid mentioned the importance of daily repentance, which is essential for every believer. In fact, he said that he repents instantly, which is what we all should do, in order to prevent any sort of stronghold from developing in our lives. I appreciate him saying that, because many today preach a false gospel without repentance, and some even teach that repentance is a work, falsely claiming that it nullifies the grace of God, which is  a foolish error on their part. Please see my articles, The False Gospel without Repentance, and Repentance That Leads to Life.

Once Saved Always Saved (Eternal Security)
Brandon said he does not believe in "Once Saved Always Saved," which is a widely held false doctrine  that the devil has released throughout the whole earth in these last days to deceive people into hell.  Brandon said, "I believe that you can backslide and go to hell that if you don't live a holy lifestyle, if you don't live on fire for Jesus, keeping your lamp full, ready for His return at any moment, and that you can actually backslide if you're living like the world." I completely agree with that.

He asked Sid if he thinks that "Once Saved Always Saved" is true or not, and Sid replied, "I'm 100% convinced that what Brandon said is correct, and it's not 'Once-Saved-Always-Saved;' that is dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumber than dumb." Sid believes as I do that our security in Christ is conditional, which I call The Conditional Security of the Believer. I know there are many skeptics and naysayers on this topic, so if you have any doubts about what Brandon, Sid, and I are saying, then please see my series called The False Gospel of Eternal Security. Nobody has ever been able to refute this from Scripture.

Avoiding Worldliness
Brandon is "right on" when he says that if you live like the world and don't live a holy life, you will end up in hell unless you repent. You will not make it in the rapture, when Jesus comes, if you are living like that (1 Jn 2:15-17; Mt 25:11-12)). Please see my article called The Forgotten Sin of Worldliness, in which I talk about a pastor who ended up in hell, because of worldliness. Please also see Separation from the World.

The Glory of God
Brandon asked Sid what the glory of God is, and Sid elaborated correctly on the light that comes forth from the Lord, which has been depicted by artists as a halo around the Lord's head and those of His saints. Let me encourage you to read my article called The Light and the Glory, which explains the glory from Scripture. If you you have not yet seen my article about a dream I once had of the glory of God on Sid Roth, you can read it here on my Yeshua Messiah blog, in my article called The Glory of God Appears on Sid Roth. It's very interesting! My Yeshua Messiah blog is dedicated to reaching Jews for Jesus.

Supernatural Power for All
Brandon rightly said that all believers can walk in supernatural power. I totally agree, and would like to invite you to read my article called Supernatural Power for All Disciples. I believe it will greatly encourage you.

The Truth About Holy Living
While Brandon emphasized the need to live a holy life, and Sid agreed with that, Sid also said that holiness is only internal, not external. He said, "Holiness is based on an internal thing: on loving God." At 21:57 in the video, Sid makes the big mistake of denying that God is concerned about the external aspects of our walk, such as what clothes you wear or whether you have tattoos. He doesn't realize that our bodies are members of Christ (1 Cor 6:15), our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19), our bodies are meant for the Lord and the Lord is meant for our bodies (1 Cor 6:13), our bodies are not our own (1 Cor 6:19), and we must glorify God with our bodies (1 Cor 6:20). He fails to realize that the Word of God clearly teaches us that a disciple of Christ must dress modestly, as both the apostles Paul and Peter taught (1 Tim 2:9-10; 1 Pet 3:3-4). I have written about this in Garments of GodlinessKeeping Your Body Pure and Holy, and Holy Living in a Perverted World. In my article, Godly Attire and Adornment -- Seven Divine Revelations, I report on seven people who have had divine revelations from the Lord warning that how we adorn our bodies outwardly matters to God, and that many people have ended up in hell for sins pertaining to ungodly attire and adornment. I have also written about Cross Dressing vs. Carrying Your Cross.

Sid also forgets that God clearly forbids tattoos in His Holy Word (Leviticus 19:28). Just because this verse is found in Leviticus doesn't mean it is irrelevant for a believer in Christ. "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2Ti 3:16). Jesus quoted from that same chapter in Leviticus 19:18 about loving your neighbor, which He said is the second greatest commandment.

The command that forbids tattoos is not some Jewish custom that no longer applies to believers in Jesus (Yeshua), as is the case with circumcision. The commands of God are still applicable today, except that we are free from the ritual, ceremonial, and dietary laws, which were shadows of the realities now fulfilled in Christ Himself. Let me encourage you to read my article called, Tattoos and Body Piercing, which not only addresses the Scriptural basis for why these things are wrong, but also mentions revelations that the Holy Spirit has given to people warning of the same.

Two State Solution for Israel
Brandon asked Sid whether he believes there will be a two-state solution for Israel that will result in Jerusalem being divided, and if so, what the consequences will be for America. Sid said the Bible clearly states that God owns the land of Israel and leased it to the Jewish people (Ps 105:8-11), and no court of law can break that lease. However, since the two biggest power brokers -- Joe Biden and Benjamin Netanyahu -- are both pushing for a two-state solution, Sid believes this will inevitably happen this year. He says it is a bad idea, since he says most Palestinian people are taught from birth that their purpose in life is to kill a Jew, and are falsely taught that this is the only way they can be sure they are going to heaven (i.e., jihad).

Brandon referred to the Abrahamic covenant in which God said those who curse Israel will be cursed (Gen 12:3); and he said he had a vision, in which he saw a major earthquake in the US along the New Madrid fault line that would happen if the US agrees to divide Jerusalem, as part of the two-state solution. He saw in his vision, while praying, that around 1,800 people will die just along the area between Texarkana, Texas and Tulsa, Oklahoma; but he said that overall, tens of thousands of people will be killed by the quake. I would like to show you a map that indicates the catastrophic destruction that would occur if there is an earthquake along the New Madrid fault line (see map at this link).

Ungodly Monetization
Let me just say a word about monetization of Christian channels like this. Throughout this video and all of Brandon's videos, viewers are forced to watch multiple ads (at least the first parts of them, for the ones that allow you to opt out at some point), which are often ungodly and even demonic. For example, there is one that shows demonic creatures (pictured left), one of which has something coming out of his belly button, at one point during the ad. You can see that it has the antichrist number 666 on it, too (displayed in red numbers above the creatures head). These are straight from hell, and yet they are being shown to viewers of a channel airing Christian content, including prayers, prophecies, and testimonies. (Sid Roth's channel, "It's Supernatural," is also monetized).

I love Brandon and Sid, and I love their hearts. I am a subscriber to both of their channels. I realize that monetizing a channel is very lucrative, but I don't think it's appropriate to use these ads, especially in light of their ungodly nature. This is not the way God has ordained that we fund His gospel work. God's ministry is to be funded God's way, not the world's way. The preacher is allowed to earn a living from the gospel (1 Cor 9), but that doesn't mean we can be yoked together with darkness or use worldly means to do so. Free-will love offerings are one biblical way to fund the gospel (Gal 6:6). Another way is for the preacher to be bi-vocational, as Paul was and as I am. I have never monetized my blogs or videos on my Youtube channel. My book, A Willing Heart to Please the Father, is also free of charge, both the hard copy and the e-book version. That doesn't make me any better than anyone else, but I am simply leading by example. For more on this important topic, please see my article The Sale of Christian Music and Art -- A Robbers' Den?

Closing Words
As I have shown in my article above, I agree with Brandon's viewpoints in this interview, and I agree with Sid on most everything he said. But with all due respect, I cannot agree with him about his statements contradicting the Word of God with regard to holiness, since holiness is not limited to internal matters of the heart. The very word "holiness" indicates total and complete consecration to God, being set apart wholly for Him, which means being "devoted to Him in both body and spirit" (1 Cor 7:34).

My aim here has been to strongly support what they said that was true, to encourage, and to provide some of my content that will further explain and confirm what they said, but also to speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15), and to lovingly confront my dear brothers in Christ about their beliefs and actions (Gal 2:11-14; Mt 18:15; 1 Tim 4:2; 5:20). My hope and prayer is that Brandon and Sid, as well as their viewers, will read what I have written in this article, as well as the articles I have linked to above, and take these things before the Lord in prayer, asking Him to reveal the whole truth and nothing but the truth to them about these matters. And once they have done so, I pray that they will make any necessary changes in their lives and ministries, wherever applicable, as needed.

Is it a Sin for a Woman to Cut Her Hair?

A common belief of Pentecostal Holiness Churches is that it is a sin for a woman to ever cut her hair at all, even to keep it manageable. They consider this true holiness. Of course, there is no Scriptural basis for that, which I will prove to you from the Bible in this article. In order to do so, let's examine 1 Corinthians 11, looking carefully at the Greek words. I found that in this particular case, the King James Version is the closest literal expression in English of the original language without adding words to smooth it out, although I do not believe the KJV is the best or only inspired version of the Bible. It says:

“For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.” (1Co 11:6)

Paul said it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, so I studied these two words. Here are the Greek word definitions:

  • Gr. keirō, 4x: to cut off the hair, shear, shave, Act_8:32 (as a sheep before it’s shearer is silent); Act_18:18 (Paul had his hair cut, for he was keeping a [Nazarite] vow); 1Co_11:6 (2x).
  • Gr. xyraō, 3x: to cut off the hair, shear, shave, Act_21:24 (take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads); 1Co_11:5-6.
  • One word means to shear and the other means to shave, which are very similar.
  • To shear is a. to cut off the hair from. b : to cut or clip (hair, wool, etc.) from someone or something also : to cut something from shear a lawn. c chiefly Scotland : to reap with a sickle. d : to cut or trim with shears or a similar instrument. Webster’s defines the verb shear as follows: 1. To cut or clip something from the surface with an instrument of two blades; to separate any thing from the surface by shears, scissors or a like instrument; as, to shear sheep; to shear cloth. It is appropriately used for the cutting of wool from sheep on their skins, for clipping the nap from cloth, but may be applied to other things; as, a horse shears the ground in feeding much closer than an ox. 2. To separate by shears; as, to shear a fleece.
  • To shave (according to Webster’s Dictionary) means: 1. To cut or pare off something from the surface of the body by a razor or other edged instrument, by rubbing, scraping or drawing the instrument along the surface; as, to shave the chin and cheeks; to shave the head of its hair. “He shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing.” Num 6. 2. To shave off, to cut off. Neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard. Lev 21. 3. To pare close.

Based on the way these two Greek words are used elsewhere in Scripture (not including our text in 1 Cor 11), they are both used in Scripture to refer to cutting off the hair close to the scalp, as Jewish men and woman initially did when they took a Nazarite vow. In the Hebrew Bible, a nazirite or a nazarite (Hebrew: נזיר) is a man or woman who voluntarily took a vow which is described in Numbers 6:1–21. "Nazarite" comes from the Hebrew word nazir meaning "consecrated" or "separated". Among other aspects of the vow of separation or consecration to God, the Nazirite would begin the vow by cutting off his or her hair and laying it on the altar, and he or she was not to cut his or her hair for the length of the vow. The act of separation of the hair from the head and offering it on the altar to God was symbolic of the person consecrating or separating himself or herself to God for a period of time. The vow had a definite beginning and end to it. Thus it was voluntary and for a finite period, rather than mandatory and for a lifelong period, except in the case of Samson who was to be a Nazarite from birth until death (Judges 13:7).

Since both men and women could take such a vow, we see that both the men and women who took the vow would begin by cutting their hair off, and since they would not cut their hair until the vow had ended, then at the end of the vow their hair would be long. Therefore, there is a time for everything, as it says in Ecclesiastes, and in this case there was a time for both a man or a woman to have both a shaven head and long hair, if they chose to voluntarily take the Nazarite vow.

Furthermore, in the context of 1 Corinthians 11, Paul was contrasting the long tresses of a woman’s hair to a man’s short hair. He said it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair, but that it is a woman’s glory to have long hair. “Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering.” (1Co 11:14-15).

The whole reason he made this distinction was to teach that a woman ought to have her head covered with a veil when she prays or prophesies. He was drawing a parallel between the nature of things and spiritual things, between hair length and head coverings. He spoke in terms of the natural hair length of men and women, in order to teach a spiritual lesson about a veil or head covering while praying or prophesying, which is a sign or symbol of being under spiritual authority.

We see Paul doing the same thing all throughout his epistles, including in 1 Cor 9, where he uses the ox who treads out the grain being entitled to eat the grain as an example to teach that a man who preaches the gospel should make a living from the gospel. We see him use the seed in 1 Cor 15 as an example to teach about natural bodies and glorified spiritual bodies. He also uses the sun, moon, and stars in the natural realm to teach about the glory that is given to different people in the spiritual bodies in the resurrection. So that is all he was doing in 1 Cor 11 by using the example of women cutting their hair off.

He was not at all saying it is a sin or unholy for a woman to ever trim her hair to keep it manageable or to remove damaged and split ends or to keep it out of her eyes. If a woman never cuts her hair over a period of many years and decades, this becomes very unmanageable and damaged, not to mention that it will be extending below her chin on the front of her head and below her buttocks in back. In some cases, depending on hair type and how fast it grows, her hair would eventually become quite heavy and burdensome on her head, which could cause headaches and neck pain. It would present a number of practical burdens, including regular care to wash and dry it, as well as to tie it up so that it is out of the way.

For African women, it would become tangled, as that type of hair does, when it is not trimmed from time to time. If an African woman never allowed scissors to touch her hair for her entire life, then it becomes difficult to comb or maintain, because it becomes thick, hard, coiled around itself, and does not grow well.

It is not the heart of God to put a lifelong mandate on all women that they can never allow scissors to touch their hair. If a woman chooses not to ever cut her hair, it should be by her own choice and not because it is a rule placed upon her.

Conclusion
We can learn from Paul’s contrast of men’s and women’s natural hair lengths, however, that it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair and for a woman to have her hair sheared or shaved off, as is done in the special circumstance of a Nazarite vow. On the other hand, we learn that it is glorious for a woman to have long hair. We may also safely conclude that it is a disgrace for a woman to wear her hair short as men do, because there must be a distinction between men and women.

Since the two Greek words in 1 Corinthians 11 for shear and shave are not used in Scripture to refer to merely a light trim of the ends of the hair to keep it manageable and healthy or to slightly shorten it a bit, then we should not conclude from this passage that it is a sin or disgrace for a woman to do so.

Therefore, the NASB translation of 1Co 11:6 accurately conveys the meaning of the original language: “For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head.”

For any church or denomination to require all women in their congregations to abstain from ever touching their hair with scissors, saying it is a sin to do so, and calling it “holiness” if she never cuts her hair, is clearly error and bondage. It is nothing more than a manmade rule that has an appearance of wisdom, with its self-imposed worship, its false humility and its harsh treatment of the body, but it lacks any value in restraining sensual indulgence (Col 2:23).

HOREMOW Descends to a New Low

I have previously written about my Issues and Concerns with HOREMOW, followed later by my sequel called Exposing the Darkness within HOREMOW. Those were written years ago, but there has been no repentance from Paul and Linda Rika. Rather than repent and confess their sins, they have attacked those who have brought accusations against them.

Let's take for example a group of believers calling themselves the Concerned Brethren in the Lord. They presented numerous documents showing very compelling evidence of sin on the part of Paul Rika (see here). But instead of repenting, Paul Rika stepped up behind a big golden pulpit all dressed in white and declared his innocence. He surveyed the audience to show that he and his ministry still have the approval of men. He referred to the ones bringing the accusations against him as wolves, and told the audience that there is nothing to see here, and that they should just forget about what they heard and move along with their business. He also falsely stated that one of the documents presented by Concerned Brethren is fake. This video is called Take Heed of Grievous Wolves Against HOREMOW by Paul Rika.

I researched this and found out the legal document that Paul Rika says is fake is actually genuine. I also discovered that brother Ama Dediare, his US Coordinator for HOREMOW, recently resigned from his position and left HOREMOW.

Paul Rika recently sent out a questionnaire to all his coordinators. The questionnaire seemed to be designed to expose any traitors and ensure total allegiance to himself among the ranks of the coordinators. The questionnaire seems to be checking to ensure that all the coordinators are loyally devoted to Paul and Linda Rika, and ensure that they are kept on a pedestal in the eyes of men. When brother Ama saw the questionnaire, he knew that he must choose between God and man, and he already knew that he was going to stand with God. He honestly answered the questionnaire and stood up to Paul Rika courageously (see here). Consequently Paul Rika engaged in his usual tactics by committing a sort of character assassination against brother Ama. He spread the rumor through a false revelation about brother Ama and his wife that claimed they had used the ministry's money for their own personal business. Therefore he publicly accused this man, who had faithfully served him, of being a thief.

Then panels were organized to conduct an inquiry of brother Ama. He told them that he was resigning, and they asked for him to put into writing the reason for his resignation, which he did. The document is a sequel to his resignation letter called Reasons for my Resignation Letter Pastor Ama, and it is well worth reading (see here). In the letter he explains everything and lays out serious allegations against Paul and Linda Rika.

If you have any doubts about whether the accusations against Paul and Linda Rika are true, you need to read the document by brother Ama, as well as the documents presented by the Concerned Brethren in the Lord cited above. Once again, the documents presented by Concerned Brethren in the Lord include the following: Letter From Concerned Brethren to Paul RikaCAC Falsehood, Linda False Revelation Affirming Amure, and Believers Concerned 1.1.

Comments from Michael Thomas Sambo

As most of you know, Michael Thomas Sambo, who is a preacher with Global Revival of Holiness Ministry, used to be a HOREMOW Coordinator. In fact, he was also a board member of that ministry. When I asked him to review this article, he replied in part:

"Paul Rika's modus operandi is still the same. It's downright questionable that he accuses almost everybody that tells him the truth of witchcraft and immorality or stealing HOREMOW money. These are tools and instrument he uses to get people out of the movement.

Recently an individual from HOREMOW, whom I have never met, went to the Lord's Chosen Church in Lagos, Nigeria and testified that Linda is from the marine kingdom. I don't know this individual, have never met him, and have never had any form of discussion with him. After the video of his testimony was uploaded to YouTube, Linda Paul Rika said God revealed to her that I, Michael Sambo, was the one that sponsored and asked the person to go and testify against them.

Beloved, I do not know this individual, how could God reveal a matter that is not true? When has God come short of truth that he resorts to the use of lies? I brought it to the notice of a cousin who is the wife of the former Administrative Secretary of HOREMOW, and she reliably informed me that she met Paul Rika and informed him of what I said of my innocence on that issue. Has he made restitution by apologising for that lie in the name of the Lord on the Lord's altar? Linda lied to God's people. This is delusion and deception.

I was also informed by a reliable source of a man who went to Paul Rika and confessed how his son in 2017 lied to Paul Rika's congregation. He said that his son, who was 7 years old at the time, had then lied that God gave him a revelation of late sister Claire Andoun being in hell. A few months ago, the man confessed that they lied, that they never saw any revelation. Has anyone made restitution for that? Certainly, a lying spirit has taken control over the entire ministry. It's most unfortunate."

He also brought up another matter as well, regarding one of Linda's so-called revelations about him.  He stated:

"I still have never spoken to the brother whom she claimed in this video that I once met and spoke to (video link). Here she claimed I met with one brother Dan, and that afterwards he left HOREMOW and hated Paul Rika, and now he is in hell. I have never met with Dan, nor have ever spoken to him.

She also said the doctor she referred to as a witch was sponsoring my ministry. Again, that doctor has never given my ministry one Naira or a dollar or a cent. So they use revelations to malign or destroy brethren whom they don't feel have any value, while others whom they have accused of witchcraft are still there. Moreover, others that are beneficial to them financially, whom he knows are not living right, are allowed to remain, and are given key positions in the movement. This is a common knowledge among the staff in the international headquarters of HOREMOW."

Closing Words

The way that Paul Rika continues to cover up his and Linda's sin with more lies and deception reminds me of the sin committed by Ananias and Saphira (Ac 5), in which they lied to the Holy Spirit. Peter told them that they had not lied to men but to God, because they deceived the church and then lied to the apostles and elders to cover up what they did. Here we have Paul and Linda Rika operating deceptively, and then lying before the whole church to cover it up. It certainly seems quite similar to me. The situation is truly horrible.

Meanwhile the people within HOREMOW continue to go along with this deception and believe the lies. They are expected to keep the Rikas up on a pedestal and "touch not the Lord's anointed." They are typically unwilling to look at the evidence against their leaders, but they should most definitely do so. We continue to pray that the Lord would deliver them and save them, and God is answering out prayers. For He is truly opening people's eyes and helping people like brother Ama realize what is happening, so that they can leave the organization, which has become a cult.

If you are a member or follower of HOREMOW, please take this to the Lord prayerfully. I urge you to come out from among them, so that you will not participate in their sins and receive their judgment (Rev 18:4; 2 Cor 6:7). You need to remove yourselves and your families from that group before you become the next victim. If you know someone who is part of HOREMOW, please share this information with them.

Heresies of C.S. Lewis

C.S Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia, is one of the most popular authors within Christian circles, and perhaps one of the most loved heretics of our time. However, he accepted the following false beliefs:

Christ did not atone for our sins.

The Bible is not inspired or inerrant.

Pagan religions have truth.

Evolution is true.

The Bible is not literal.

Catholic sacraments spread the life of Christ to us.

Purgatory is a real place.

Hell may be simply a figment of the mind.

Praying for the dead.

White magic is good.

Scripture Refutes these heresies
God's Word teaches us that these beliefs are false, so we must reject them and anyone that teaches them.

Christ atoned for our sin.
The apostle John wrote, "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world." (1 Jn 2:2, NIV).

All Scripture is inspired.
The apostle Paul wrote, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." (2 Tim 3:16). Also see The Bible is the Word of God.

Jesus is the Truth and the only Way.
Jesus said that He is the Truth and the only way to the Father. He said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (Jn 14:6). We can not get to the Father in heaven through pagan religions.

The apostle Paul wrote, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Rom 10:9).

The apostle Peter said, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” (Ac 4:12). You cannot be saved by following Buddha, Mohammed, Joseph Smith, or any other man. There is no other name but the name of Jesus by which we must be saved. Those other men's bones are still in their graves, but Jesus' tomb is empty, because He has risen from the dead and sits at the right hand of God.

God created the heavens and the earth in six days.
Moses taught this in his writings, which Jesus said we must believe (John 5:45-47). "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth...Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done." (Gen 1:1;2:1-2). "For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy." (Ex 20:11). Also see Oral Account of Creation from Adam to Abraham.

God created man both male and female from the beginning.
They did not evolve from a lower form of life. "God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (Gen 1:27). Jesus Himself taught this. "But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female." (Mk 10:6).

We are saved by grace through faith, not sacraments.
There is no Scripture that requires us to take sacraments to be saved. Paul wrote, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Eph 2:8-9). There are two ordinances that Jesus left for the Church, which are communion and water baptism. He taught us to celebrate communion in remembrance of His death (Lk 22:19; 1 Cor 11:24-25), and to baptize new believers in water (Mt 3:13-17; Mt 28:19). He said, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Mt 28:19). He said, "And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned." (Mk 16:15-16). Water baptism is for those who have repented and believed in Jesus, not a sacrament that can save those who have not yet believed. See By Faith Alone - Part I and By Grace Alone.

The Bible teaches heaven and hell as the two possible eternal destinations of man.
There is no Scripture in the Bible that teaches purgatory. "It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment." (Heb 9:27). Jesus said, “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned." (Jn 5:28-29, NIV).

Hell is a literal place.
Jesus taught a literal hell. He said that when He judges all mankind, He will send the wicked to the eternal fire.

“Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels." (Mt 25:41).

He said, "If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off; it is better for you to enter life crippled, than, having your two hands, to go into [ac]hell, into the unquenchable fire, and where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched." (Mk 9:43-44)

Those who worship the beast and receive his mark will be tormented forever by fire and brimstone, undoubtedly in hell, the lake of fire. “Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.’” (Rev 14:9-11)

The beast and false prophet both end up in that same place, “And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” (Rev 20:10).

Many others will be in the lake of fire. “But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev 21:). Also see Where will you go when you die?, Revelation of Hell to Seven Colombian Youths, Michael Thomas Sambo's Revelation of Heaven and Hell, and Eudoxia Varga Testimony of Heaven and Hell.

There is no Scriptural basis for praying for the dead.
Mercy is only available while you are on earth. Once you die, then comes the judgment. "It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment." (Heb 9:27). The only reason someone would pray for the dead is if they either believed that one may be in purgatory and somehow released, or if they believed that hell is temporary. But the Bible teaches that hell is eternal.

All forms of magic are condemned.
Magic is considered witchcraft. Throughout Scripture, all forms of witchcraft are considered wicked and are condemned. (Deuteronomy 18:10–16; Leviticus 19:26, 31; 20:27; Acts 13:8–10). There is no distinction made between black magic and white magic, good magic or bad magic. It is all evil. The apostle Paul referred to Elymas the sorcerer as a “child of the devil” full of  “all kinds of deceit and trickery”, "perverting the right ways of the Lord” (Acts 13:10). The apostle Peter condemned Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8:20–23. When the Ephesians came to Christ, they repented of practicing magic arts and burned the books, which probably contained the magic spells, incantations, and other magic instruction. "And many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and began burning them in the sight of everyone; and they counted up the price of them and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver." (Ac 19:19).

The Scriptures teach us that the eternal destiny of those who practice magic arts is in the lake of burning sulfur. "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Rev 21:8, NIV; cf. Rev 22:15)

Putting it All Together
As we can see from Scripture, these beliefs of C.S. Lewis are completely false. Therefore, I caution you not to read his books, since this man was an agent of the father of lies, which is the devil. And for that matter, I do not advise anyone to watch movies that are based on his books, such as Narnia. These open doors for demons to enter your life.

As followers of Christ, we must not cling to falsehood or anything that is of the devil. We must repent from our involvement in it and cry out for forgiveness. We must live holy and godly lives for the Lord Jesus. We must not touch any unclean thing. For the sake of your own soul, please do not dabble with darkness. Come out from among them and be separate. Walk in the Light as Jesus is in the Light.

TGRM Issues and Concerns

People have been directing me to a certain website of a Christian movement in Nigeria, known as True Gospel Revival Movement (TGRM) Worldwide. Until now I kept saying that I did not feel led to go and look at it. But recently I did take a look and evaluated some of the things I read. Here are some issues I discovered that are cause for serious concern:

World Domination
On the TGRM website, it states: In the very words of Jesus Christ, He said, “I, Jesus Christ of Nazareth set up ‘True Gospel Revival movement’ to dominate the world.”

I don’t see that in the Bible where any group of believers is supposed to dominate the world in this present age. This sounds more like “Dominion theology” or “Kingdom Now” theology, which are false. The reign of Christ and the saints on earth does not occur until after His visible return to earth to set up His kingdom.

Dominionism aims to reform all sectors of society, or bring about the renewal of all things, in order to establish Christ’s kingdom on earth before He comes.  However, Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”  (Mt 19:28).  He taught that the renewal of all things would occur “when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne.” He also taught that He will sit on His glorious throne when He returns, not before He returns: “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.” (Mt 25:31).  So it is presumptuous to attempt to renew all things in this world before He comes and sits on His glorious throne. (Also see Sequence of Signs Preceding the Coming of Christ).

Salvation by Church Membership
The TGRM website states: “Again Jesus Christ said that anybody who wants to see Him on the last day should join this movement He has founded by Himself. Whatever religious or secular position held by any person, if he or she does not join and assist ‘True Gospel Revival Movement’ and pattern his/her life and religion according to all the truth He is revealing through this movement, that person is doomed.”

The apostle Paul reproved the Corinthians for this kind of sectarianism when he said, " What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?"  (1 Cor. 1:12-13). This prohibits divisions in the Body. Yet TGRM is creating divisions by saying they are the only true movement of God on the earth, excluding all others that do not join them.

It literally says, “Jesus Christ said that anybody who wants to see Him on the last day should join this movement… if he or she does not join and assist ‘True Gospel Revival Movement’…that person is doomed.” This means that we must join a movement in order to be saved, and that goes against the Scripture. We are saved by faith in Christ, not by Church membership, or being part of a religion, or group. (Eph 2:8-9).

Working for the Lord vs. Working with Him
The site also says: “I, Jesus Christ raised ‘True Gospel Revival Movement’ to work with me. Others are working for me. The danger in working for me is that they will end up in destruction.”

So this site claims that if we work “for” the Lord we will end up in destruction. But the Scripture says, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,” (Col 3:23). The Greek word is “tō” meaning “to” the Lord. If it was “with” then the Greek word would be “pros”. The better translation says, “as unto the Lord and not unto men”.  “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; (Col 3:23, KJV). Elsewhere Paul said, “With good will render service, as to the Lord, and not to men,” (Eph 6:7)

It also states on the TGRM site: “Jesus Christ said that all other people are working for Him but only this movement is working with Him. Any other project or support or assistance governments and people are giving in His name, outside this movement is on a wrong foundation. He, Jesus Christ does not accept it. Therefore whatever project, support or assistance given to this movement 'True Gospel Revival Movement’ is directly to Him, Jesus Christ of Nazareth."

To summarize, TGRM is saying: “only this movement is working with Him” and “Any other project or support or assistance governments and people are giving in His name, outside this movement is on a wrong foundation. He, Jesus Christ does not accept it.”

Husbands are Little gods?
TGRM also states that the Lord said, “When a woman is married, the first father that she has to obey as a little god other than her biological father is her husband…A woman is free to call her husband lord because he is a small god to her.” This prophecy does not even say a husband is "like" a small god, which would have been bad enough, but that he "is" a small god. However, there is no Scriptural basis for any man being a little god. See Are We Really Little gods?

The Authority of the Only Begotten Son of God
TGRM states that the Lord said, “When I came before, I spoke like a child who has no authority. I gave a message to the world before now, that I am not the only son of my father. Adam was a son, Satan was a son.”

However, this has two issues: 1) the Bible says that when Jesus came, “He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.” (Mat 7:29). Also see Mk 1:22 and Lk 4:32. And 2) the Scripture says that Jesus was the only Son of God. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (Joh 3:16).

All throughout the New Testament, the Lord Jesus is referred to as “the Son of God” (Mat. 26:63; 27:40,43,54; Mark 1:1; 3:11; 15:39; Luke 1:35; 3:38; 4:41; 22:70; John 1:34,49; 5:25; 10:36; 11:4,27; 19:7; 20:31; Acts 8:37; 9:20; Rom. 1:4; 2Co. 1:19; Gal. 2:20; Eph. 4:13; Heb. 4:14; 6:6; 7:3; 10:29; 1Jn. 3:8; 4:15; 5:5,10,12,13,20; Rev. 2:18), as well as "His Son" in the singular form (Rom. 1:3,9; 5:10; 8:29; 1Co. 1:9; Gal. 1:16; 4:4,6; 1Th. 1:10; Heb. 1:2). He is not referred to in Scripture as merely “a son of God” or “one of the sons of God,” but “THE Son of God.” His disciples attested to it (Mat 14:33). It was His position as the only Son of God that satan challenged when he tempted the Lord in the wilderness (Mat. 4:3,6). But even the demons, whenever they saw Him, cried out that He was the Son of God (Mk 3:11). And the reason the Jews crucified Him was that He claimed to be the Son of God. “They all said, ‘Are You the Son of God, then?’ And He said to them, ‘Yes, I am.’” (Luk 22:70). This was such a significant claim that they considered it to be blasphemy. By calling God His Father, He was making Himself equal to God (Joh 5:18).

TGRM is teaching that satan was a son, too. It says, “Satan was a son.” Why would Jesus say such a thing? Granted, one might find Scriptural basis to say that satan was one of the many “sons of God” in the sense that he was originally an angel, and angels were direct creations of God, known as “sons of God” (Gen. 6:2,4; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7). But that does not put satan on the same level as the only begotten Son of God, nor does it make him the brother of Jesus as some cults teach. When TGRM says that Jesus is not the only son of His Father, and that satan was also a son of His Father, it puts Jesus and satan on the same level as brothers, which is false. Satan is a created being. Jesus Christ is the Creator -- God, not a created being (Col 1:16)! Also see Is Jesus God?, The Eternal Firstborn of All Creation, Jesus is Yehova, The Origin of Sin, Satan, and Secular Music and The Rise and Fall of Lucifer the Musician.

Property Ownership
About ownership, TGRM states the Lord said:

“The idea of ownership is from hell. In heaven there is no claim of ownership. I and my father and the Holy Spirit are one. I made this world in such a way that anywhere somebody finds suitable he can build and live. I want to tell the world that this world was created before man was created. My programme for man is to replenish the earth and not to claim ownership of it. I have come to tell those who claim ownership of land that, right as I am speaking now, no man should own more than a flat. Every document of land ownership is fake. These are things Satan is using to confuse the world. Nobody in the world is qualified to own more than a flat. As I’m giving this order the governments of the world should adopt it. If they cannot, I will achieve it with True Gospel Revival Movement. That is why I said, this is the only movement I have raised to dominate the world… Those who claim they own lands are working against me, for this reason, I declare to the world that my plan for the whole earth is that any where people find space they should build and live… Tell the world that I, Jesus Christ of Nazareth said that even the car owner seat, people sit on, is a seat of pride. So, tell my children who really want to obey me that they should avoid the car owner seat because it is the seat of pride.”

On the one hand, the Lord did say in His Word, “So then, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.” (Luk 14:33). But is all ownership evil? This prophecy says that “the idea of ownership is from hell,” which effectively means all ownership is evil, except for owning a flat (apartment), which TGRM says that believers are allowed to own.

It says, “my children who really want to obey me that they should avoid the car owner seat.” This means that it is disobedience to own a car.

It also says, “Any where people find space they should build and live.” So if a believer builds and lives in a place, does he not then own what he built? Is it not a house, rather than a flat? Does this mean that he can build on property that someone else claims to own? It seems to imply this, because it says, “Every document of land ownership is fake.” So if a TGRM member finds space and builds on it, and the owner of that space (another private citizen, corporation, or government) claims ownership of it, what will be the deciding factor to settle the dispute? If the owner produces their ownership documents, perhaps the TGRM member will claim that the documents are fake and he has right to live there.

This means that in the Bible, when God told the prophet Jeremiah to buy land, that was a sin (Jer 32:6-15). In that same passage, the Lord commanded the use of property deeds to prove ownership. Were those deeds fake or illegitimate? What about when Boaz bought the field of Naomi (Ruth 4:1-10)? What about the field he already owned before he bought that one (Ruth 2:3)?

In the New Testament, the disciples all had their own homes. It says, “So the disciples went away again to their own homes. “ (Joh 20:10). Peter and Andrew owned a house, in which it appears that Peter’s mother-in-law also lived, so it could not have been too small (Mk 1:29-30; Mt 8:14). Martha welcomed Jesus into her own home (Lk 10:38). Jesus ate at the house of Matthew (Mt 9:10), and He said to Zaccheus, "I must stay at your house today" (Lk 19:5). He was anointed at the home of Simon the Leper (Mt 26:6). In making arrangements to eat the Last Supper, He instructed His disciples to ask permission from the "owner" of a house to use a guest room (Lk 22:11). He sent out His disciples with instructions to stay in the home of a worthy person, whenever they entered a town or village (Mt 10:11). He referred to a prophet having his own home (Mt 13:57; Mk 6:4). John took Mary into His own home (Jn 19:27). Peter once stayed at the home of another disciple named Simon the tanner, who owned a house by the sea in Joppa (Acts 9:43; 10:6,32). Paul once stayed at the house of a disciple named Judas on Straight Street in Damascus (Ac 9:11). The saints gathered together and prayed at the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark (Ac 12:12). Yet not a word of condemnation is spoken against any of these disciples for owning homes.

If ownership were evil, then stealing would not be a sin. Yet the Lord commands us not to steal (Eph. 4:28). This means that there is such a thing as people owning property.

TGRM says in this prophecy that “Nobody in the world is qualified to own more than a flat. As I’m giving this order the governments of the world should adopt it. If they cannot, I will achieve it with True Gospel Revival Movement.” This means TGRM is claiming divine authority to defy the governments with regard to property ownership. However, this seems to contradict the Scripture that says, “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities.” (Rom 13:1ff)

One last thing I would like to say about ownership is this. If a married man and his wife have a large family together, a flat (apartment) may not be big enough for them to live in. If so, then what are they to do? Since TGRM says they are not qualified to own anything more than a flat, does that mean their only recourse is to squeeze into a flat that is too small for them? Or if they must move into a home, does it mean that they are only allowed to rent a home, even though it may be more expensive than for them to own one?

Financial Support of TGRM
It is interesting to note that the matter of ownership presented in this last TGRM prophecy is directly connected with financial support of their ministry. The obvious implication is that to be a member in this movement, you must sell everything you have and bring the money to them.

About financial support of TGRM, TGRM states the Lord said: “Tell the world that I, Jesus Christ of Nazareth said, since I announced to people to bring their resources into True Gospel Revival Movement and use it to achieve my project, they are finding it difficult because Satan has filled them with the idea of ownership. But I want to tell them that if they keep it to themselves because of their plans to build, own lands, train their children and so on, I will come and do it myself but they will end up in hell fire. Thus, said Jesus Christ of Nazareth. So I am calling them to unite and do as I commanded them for their own good. Tell them that with this movement I will introduce my own money which will not have the head of Caesar, when I said “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar”, the money of the world has the head of human beings on them. With this movement I will introduce my own money which will not possess the heart of my children. Thus, said Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Who has ear let him hear what Jesus Christ of Nazareth said.”

These statements have several issues with them: 1) First of all they imply that anyone who does not support TGRM financially is going to hell. 2) It also states that there will be a currency especially for those in TGRM that is not one of the currencies produced by any government. When Jesus was on earth, He did recognize the Roman denarius and Caesar’s image on it, and He said to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s (Mat. 22:19; Mark 12:15; Luke 20:24). There is no place in Scripture where it says the Lord will introduce a new worldwide currency for the saints. 3) If ownership is from hell, then wouldn't the Lord want to abolish it completely?  Why then would He want to generate another new currency to help support the practice of ownership?  One would think He would want a world where everyone just shared everything they had and there was no need for currency.

Moreover, after Barnabas sold his tract of land and gave the full proceeds to the apostles (Act 4:36-37), another disciple named Ananias sought to imitate it, while secretly and deceptively keeping some of the proceeds for himself (Ac 5:1-2). Peter told Ananias, "While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control?" (Act 5:4a). He said the field remained the property of Ananias until it was sold, so he acknowledged that Ananias was the rightful owner of it. Moreover, he said that after it was sold, the proceeds from the sale remained under the control of Ananias. Peter did not say it was evil for Ananias to own the property, or that the Lord required him to sell it and give the resources to the projects the apostles were working on. Yet TGRM states the Lord is announcing to the world that people should “bring their resources into True Gospel Revival Movement and use it to achieve my project.”

King James Version Only
On their website, it also says, “MESSAGE OF JESUS CHRIST ABOUT THE HOLY BIBLE. I, Jesus Christ of Nazareth tell the world that they should not go with or interpret my word from any other version of the Bible except King James Version (KJV), both English and any other language. Other translations are arranged by the kingdoms of darkness, to water down my word. All who buy and use those other version are partakers of the harm those versions are doing to my word and they will perish with the translators. I tell those who join me in TGRM not to go with any other version except KJV.”

This is a major concern for a few reasons:

1) The King James Bible has undergone three revisions since its inception in 1611, incorporating more than 100,000 changes. So which King James Bible is inspired?

2) TGRM prophesies that Jesus Christ of Nazareth said, "tell the world that they should not go with or interpret my word from any other version of the Bible except King James Version (KJV), both English and any other language." The problem with this statement is that Bible translations into non-English languages are not the King James Version. Moreover, there are no translations into non-English languages based on the KJV that I am aware of. Just to be sure of this, I asked Wycliffe Bible Translators, and their contact person replied to me after researching it, saying, "I didn't find any non English translations that said they were translations of the KJV." If any such foreign translation exists that is based on the KJV, it must be very rare. If so, that means most nations are using a Bible that is arranged by the kingdom of darkness, and the people who read it are doomed, according to TGRM.

3) The KJV Preface asks, “How shall men meditate on that which they do not understand?” They sought to put it into the language that common people used every day, so that they could understand the Bible. However, what was common language 400 years ago, has become outdated and difficult to understand for most English-speaking people today.

4) In his Critical Analysis of the King James Version, Al Maxey points out that for all its flowery language and other positive characteristics, the KJV has doctrinal problems, textual manipulation, lack of uniformity, archaeological inaccuracies, textual inaccuracies, and paraphrasing.

5) Factual evidence reveals that the KJV is not the most accurate and easy to understand version of the Bible.

6) Other English versions existed before the KJV, such as Tyndale's New Testament, the Rheims New Testament, the Great Bible, the Bishop's Bible, and the Geneva Bible, so it is not the original English version. The Geneva Bible was the Bible of the Protestant Reformers; it was the people's choice for seventy-five years before the King James Bible was produced, and was the preferred Bible of the common Christian household. In fact, it was the Bible used by the Puritans who migrated to America. However, based on the prophecy above from TGRM, we would have to conclude that the Geneva Bible translation was arranged by the kingdom of darkness and all those who read it perished with the translators.

7) The KJV translators used more than just the original Greek and Hebrew texts of Scripture to produce the English text found in that version. They also used the Bishop's Bible as their source text, as well as the Geneva Bible, along with other versions already in existence. So it is a real hybrid of many sources.

I can understand if some individual or some church prefers the King James Version over all others, but it is wrong to require its use by prophecy as a commandment of the Lord, under penalty of hell fire. That's what TGRM has done, making this a requirement for salvation, thereby condemning billions of people who cannot read the King James Version or prefer not to do so.

Dietary Laws
Another major concern with this movement is that they teach that Christians should not eat foods that were forbidden in the Law of Moses. They claim that Jesus Christ of Nazareth has now released to the world the message that anyone who eats such foods is condemned to hell. However, these are dietary laws, and Christians are not under any dietary laws, (except for the ones decreed by the apostles in Acts 15:28-29). Jesus declared all foods clean (Mk 7:19), and Paul did, too (Rom 14:14,20). Anyone who puts Christians under dietary laws, beyond what the apostles decreed at the Jerusalem council, is preaching another gospel and is eternally accursed according to the apostle Paul (Gal 1:9).

Paul warned us about teachings like this in his letter to Timothy: “But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.” (1Ti 4:1-5)

To use Paul’s words, TGRM advocates abstaining from certain foods, which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. Paul said these are doctrines of demons. Based on what he wrote, as well as the Lord's own teaching, we can be assured that nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude.

Observing the Law
Not only does TGRM want to bring the Gentile disciples of Christ back to the dietary laws of Moses, but they teach that we must obey the entire Law of Moses. In the context of the message about dietary laws, they prophesy, "I have come to tell the world that this message I am giving now, is with heaviness of heart.... Every law My Father instituted must be obeyed...No commandment of My Father should be disobeyed." (capitalization and underlining added by editor for emphasis). This means that in the name of the Lord they are requiring Christians to obey all dietary, ceremonial, ritual, and sacrificial laws. That includes circumcision, wearing tassels on their clothing, and observing all Jewish days, months and years.

I can assure you that the Lord is not calling the Gentiles to come under the Law of Moses. This fact was firmly established in the first century, when certain Judaizers insisted that the Gentile Christians must be circumcised and observe the Law of Moses. The apostles and elders in Jerusalem discussed this, and Peter asked, "Now therefore why do you put God to the test by placing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way as they also are.” (Ac 15:10-11). James concluded, "Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.” (Ac 15:19-21).

We are not justified by observing the Law (Rom 3:20; Gal 2:16). Paul said, "For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.'" (Gal 3:10, NIV). He said that every man who lets himself be circumcised is obligated to obey the whole Law (Gal 5:3). Brethren, we are not seeking to keep up the Law of Moses in conjunction with the gospel. Please see my articles What Then Must We Observe? and Righteousness by Faith not Law

The Return of Christ
TGRM states the Lord said, “This is why my word says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Does not the world see my wisdom in these mysteries? Therefore, I, hereby announce to the world that I have returned, to rule and to destroy whatever the idiot has done all this time. I have come to take back to my kingdom that which belongs to me. Thus said the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.”

TGRM states the Lord said, “Satan devised another means of using a Roman emperor to merge Christianity and the world together in order to stop my own vision. Since then I allowed him and he started introducing a lot of things into Christianity through churches and their founders. I have been warning people but they would not understand me. So, I have come again by myself to re-establish my standard.”

TGRM states the Lord said, “No body has the power to kill my own people again. I am coming like a king to claim what belongs to me. If a king goes on a long journey that will take him many years away from his domain, his coming back will be announced so that things will be put in order before his arrival. Now I am announcing my return, so that things that are not in order will be put in order.”

“So, my children who obey me and do what I command, I am coming to reign. As I promised Israel of giving them a land which was not their own, so I promise to give you a land flowing with milk and honey. Thus said the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.”

These statements have three main issues:

1) They state that the Lord has returned by using the expressions, “I have returned;” “I have come,” and “I have come again.” Then they contradict those statements by putting it in the future tense with expressions like “I am coming” and “I am announcing my return;” So has He come again or is He announcing His return? Which one?

2) They state that the Lord said, “No body has the power to kill my own people again.” This means there will be no more martyrs from this time onward. Yet we know that Christians are still dying for Christ around the world, and in the Bible we see that martyrdom will continue until the end, when His angels gather His elect from the four winds. Jesus Himself said persecution of the saints is one of the signs of the times before His return. “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.” (Mat 24:9). The book of Revelation has much to say about End Time Saints being killed, and even says it is the destiny of some to be killed (Rev 13:10). The Lord requires faithfulness until death (Rev 2:10). Anyone who will not worship the beast will be killed, including saints (Rev 13:15; cf., 14:11; Rev 20:4). See my articles The Glory of Martyrdom for Christ and The End Time Saints.

3) They state that Jesus called satan an “idiot”. Yet we find no place in Scripture where Jesus ever called satan or any demon an “idiot.” He called the devil “satan” (Mat. 4:10; 12:26; 16:23; Mark 3:23,26; 4:15; 8:33; Luke 10:18; 11:18; 13:16; 22:31). In Revelation, he is referred to as “the great dragon,” “the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan” (Rev 12:9). He is also called “the accuser of the brethren” (Rev 12:10). Jesus called the demons “unclean spirits” (Mk 5:8) or simply demons (Mat. 7:22; 10:8; 12:27,28; Mark 16:17; Luke 11:18,19,20; 13:32). And when speaking to His enemies, the Lord may have called them by names of beasts like fox or viper (Mat. 12:34; 23:33), but He never called anyone an idiot. In fact, it says in Jude, “Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties. But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" But these men revile the things which they do not understand; and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.” (Jud 1:8-10)

About the statements that the Lord has already returned, we have the following Scriptural warnings against such claims:

The apostle Paul said, “Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.” (2Th 2:1-4). Paul warned the Thessalonians not to believe any spirit or message or letter as if from him to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. In Paul’s concluding remarks to that epistle, he states, “If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that person and do not associate with him, so that he will be put to shame. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.” (2Th 3:14-15)

The Lord Himself also said, “Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you in advance. So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them. For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.” (Mat 24:23-28). You will know it when the Lord has returned, just as a flash of lightning in the sky cannot be kept secret from those on the earth. But when you see a lot of vultures circling in the sky above, rather than a flash of lightning, that should tell you something. You may not be able to see what they are all gathering around for, but you know it is some body that is sick or dead. Beware of anyone who says the Lord has come back and any group that gathers around such claims. See Sequence of Signs Preceding the Coming of Christ and Synching Up the Seven Seals with the Gospels.

Confusion
There is confusion in this movement, and confusion is not of God. "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints." (1 Cor 14:33, KJV).

For example, TGRM contradicts itself. On the one hand, they prophesy that it is disobedience to own a car. On the other hand, they prophesy that the car was made with wisdom, and that those who say it is useless will suffer for their foolishness, since their travels will become more difficult. They state that the Lord asked, "Can an African tell the white man that the wisdom he used in making a car is useless? If he avoids him, his movement becomes difficult and he will suffer because of his own foolishness."

Another example that I have already mentioned is the matter of the Lord having already returned on the one hand, yet on the other hand He is coming to reign.

Another example is the matter of working for the Lord versus working with the Lord, as I have also  mentioned. On the one hand they prophesy, "The danger in working for Me is that they will end up in destruction.” On the other hand they prophesy, "...the matter is that after working for me, they get their reward in heaven.” This is confusing. Do people working for the Lord get their reward in heaven or do they end up in destruction?

To further emphasize my point about confusion, here is an email I received from a brother named John A. from Nigeria, which I received over a year and half after I posted this article. He stated:

"I started reading the doctrines of True Gospel Revival Movement, and I contacted them through my phone and introduced myself to them. And the next thing they told me was to start a fellowship wherever I am, and teach the doctrines on their website. I began to wonder when they later called me and told me that my name is not supposed to be John, that my name is Yahchana. I accepted the name [initially], but I later began to question myself and I became confused. In the process of visiting their site, I saw your article that pointed out certain things that caused me to [contact] a pastor to pray for me to renounce the name I accepted without knowing the source or the meaning. And I became afraid from that moment. What confuses me most is that their teaching sounds like true teaching, so I am still confused even till this moment. "

As you can see, this group is causing confusion, and they need to be held accountable for what they are doing to people like this man John in Nigeria, which brings me to my next point.

Lack of Accountability and Directive Prophecies
TGRM seems to lack accountability. What I mean by that is that they are primarily issuing directives via prophecy, which nobody is allowed to challenge or question. Over and over again you see prophecy after prophecy setting forth these new rules, new standards, new commandments, usually ending with the phrase, “Thus said the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.” We need to be careful of directive prophecy, since the biblical purpose of prophecy is to edify, comfort, and encourage us (1 Cor 14:3), not to direct us.

The TGRM site states, "In True Gospel Revival Movement the Lord Jesus Christ speaks direct to men and not through his spirit alone. He speaks through his chosen mouth piece and his ordained oracle." This is talking about the person who initiated this movement. It also states that  "...nobody ever attempts to doctor or amend his messages before releasing them to the world, but they are handed raw to the world."

This is leading by prophecy, which is dangerous. Many cults have been created this way. Things may start off seeming to be fairly innocent with only a few, apparently minor deviations from the Word, but then it can gradually become more and more obvious that it is unbiblical. The problem is that by then it is too late, because you have been completely deceived, and you cannot get yourself out.

No matter who gives a prophecy, it must always be tested and judged, not only by the individual who gives it, but also by others. Yet these TGRM prophecies are being "handed raw to the world" without anyone being allowed to judge or amend them. Paul said, “Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others pass judgment.” (1Co 14:29). He also said, “Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” (1Th 5:19-22). In fact, Paul himself, who wrote half the New Testament, went up to Jerusalem to submit himself to the apostles there and ensure that his gospel message to the Gentiles was valid. He wanted to ensure that he had not been running in vain. He said, “Then after an interval of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along also. It was because of a revelation that I went up; and I submitted to them the gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but I did so in private to those who were of reputation, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.” (Gal 2:1-2)

The apostle John warned us, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (1Jn 4:1). The Berean disciples were commended for seeking to find out if Paul’s messages were Scriptural. It says, “Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” (Act 17:11). We must always be free to examine everything carefully, test it, and pass judgment on every single prophecy. If anyone puts themselves above that process, threatening anyone who attempts to do so with hellfire, then that is dangerous. That person is not accountable to others in the Body of Christ.

Prophecy is not the only gift and prophets are not the only ones the Lord uses to prepare the Body for works of service. “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” (Eph 4:11-13). There needs to be these others, such as apostles, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, in order to maintain accountability and keep the Church from error. But when a group relies mainly on prophecy to equip the saints, and defies any challenges to these prophecies, the enemy can easily get in and bring deception. Please see Judging Revelations, Visions, and Prophecies, Testing the Spirits of False Prophets, and Accountable, correctable, and teachable.

The core members of this movement, who are giving these prophecies, seem to be rather young in the Lord and spiritually immature. They need to submit to authority and make themselves accountable to others in the Body of Christ. They must also be correctable and teachable. But who will correct them or teach them if all other churches and movements are deemed by prophecy to be apostate or illegitimate?

Extra-biblical Writings
If these prophecies cannot be challenged, judged, or tested by other disciples using the Word of God, then that means these messages are inerrant and become elevated to the level of Scripture. This means each prophecy posted on the website becomes like another book of the Bible and holds the same authority as Scripture. Or else it is regarded as another book that Christians must obey, besides the Bible. The end result is that such a book or such extra-biblical writings on the web end up superseding Scripture, because they are regarded as authoritative and binding upon all Christians, even if they contradict the Bible. This essentially nullifies the Word of God, as TGRM is doing with their laws that contradict Scripture. The fact is that no prophecy or extra-biblical writing carries the same authority as Scripture, and must either conform to the Word of God or be ignored.

Also see my articles Scripture Alone and The Bible is the Word of God.

One Group with All Truth
TGRM states that the Lord "has decided to reveal all truth and mystery of Heaven through this movement." They also state that the Lord said He "will reveal all mysteries through this movement." Those are the exact words from their website. That also presents a problem, since it is unbiblical.

The apostle Paul said, "We know in part and we prophesy in part." (1 Cor 13:9). That means none of us have the whole, but only a part. None of us, except the Lord, have all knowledge. The Lord does not reveal all mysteries to one individual or group, but only some. That is the way a healthy body functions. Otherwise one part of the body could say to another part, "I don't need you." As we all function together in unity, each one doing their part, then we receive the fullness of all that the Lord reveals to the Church. As the whole body is fitted and held together in Christ "by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part," then He causes the growth of the body (Eph 4:16).

As the apostle John said, "But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth." (1Jn 2:20-21). Every true disciple has an anointing from the Spirit of grace, and by this unction we all know the truth, as well as discern the lies.

If the Lord gave all knowledge to one individual or group, and everyone looked solely to them for guidance, then the enemy could easily deceive billions of people at once, simply by deceiving that single individual or movement. So if the enemy has already deceived the founder of TGRM and introduced error into this movement, as I have proven in this article, then the potential for mass deception not only exists, but is already happening at some level internationally!

Condition for TGRM Membership
The ten rules that all TGRM members must obey are listed on the home page of their website, which are basically like the new, Ten Commandments. Of course, as usual, they claim these rules were set by Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

The ninth rule states: "Membership is by believing every bit of these messages of our Lord Jesus Christ and joining in our fellowships and programmes to both do and teach others nothing but this truth." They said you can do nor teach nothing but what they claim is "truth." So if you are a part of that organization, you must do and teach others only what they teach, including all the heresies I have highlighted above, and others I have not yet discovered. In other words, you are not allowed to teach others anything else, except what TGRM dictates. This essentially means you are not allowed to teach anything found in the Bible that they do not teach.

And their tenth commandment states, "membership of this movement is one of the unavoidable conditions for seeing God at last." This means that their ninth rule that I just mentioned is a condition for salvation, along with all their other conditions.

If you are a member of TGRM, I call upon you to repent, because in order to be a member of it, you must do and teach everything they say. That requires that you embrace doctrines that I have just proven to be false, according to the Word of God. And you will have to teach others that they will burn in hell, unless they embrace these false teachings.

Mind Control
In case you did not already reach this conclusion yourself, the practices of TGRM resemble the mind control techniques commonly used by cults to control their members. If you would like to educate yourself about that, please see the article by Cult Watch entitled "How Cults Work."

Similarities to Armstrongism
Based on what I have seen thus far of TGRM, it is similar in many ways to Armstrongism, which refers to the beliefs of a cult formed by Herbert W. Armstrong in 1934 that eventually came to be known as the Worldwide Church of God. According to Wikipedia, he taught that "God had restored the full Gospel message of the Kingdom of God...to the Church through him (Armstrong) by opening his mind to the plain truth of scripture. He taught that all other churches calling themselves 'Christian' were not merely apostate, but actually counterfeits..." His worldwide church was supposedly the one group with all truth. He taught that Christians must observe the dietary laws of Moses, celebration of high Sabbaths, and annual Jewish festivals. He claimed that these and other teachings of his were the true gospel restored. Therefore, I think that the True Gospel Revival Movement Worldwide bears many resemblances to the Worldwide Church of God.

Unable to Refute this Article
One last thing I would like to say is that shortly after writing this article, I sent it  to TGRM, and asked them to respond to it. They initially requested phone contact, which I refused. They deleted my comment from their site and said they were preparing a response to this article, but they never followed through with it.

Then five months after writing this article, in July 2016, a sister in the Philippines began to read their website, and when she asked if they had a branch congregation in her country, they wanted her to establish one. They even gave her a prophecy that they claimed was directly from the Lord that He wanted her to start such a group. However, she wanted to make sure she was not being misled or deceived, so she read this present article of mine. Then she brought it to their attention, to which they replied with another prophecy supposedly from the Lord Jesus to her. In this prophecy, they quoted the Lord saying that when they were making arrangements to answer my article, He stopped them, saying that He would answer me by Myself, and He said that He has already answered me.

She wrote to me to find out if in fact the Lord did answer me about TGRM after writing this article. I responded by saying that I have received no such message from the Lord that would validate this movement, and that in fact I have received further information that only validates what I have written.  Therefore, let it be known that I stand by what I have written in this article.

Two weeks after that sister in the Philippines corresponded with me and I added this new section to my article, here is what happened. On July 17, 2016, TGRM sent me a prophecy allegedly from the Lord to me personally, and they copied 59 other people on the email. The only way they had my email address was from when I left a comment on their website five months ago, but I never gave them permission to copy other people on an email to me, since I do not want my email address publicized. When I received their email, I did not read the attachment with the prophecy, since I assumed it was not favorable toward me unless I agree with their doctrines. They also sent attachments with their revised calendar that all Christians are supposed to use now, which seems to be part of what they have supposedly been commissioned to do.

As they told the Filipino sister recently, the Lord advised them NOT to answer me regarding this article, because He Himself would do so and I had supposedly already received His message. Yet now they have in fact responded to my article by sending the following to me personally and copying others whom I do not know: 1) the supposed prophecy they believe the Lord has for me, which I was supposed to have already received; 2) a document they have written justifying their KJV-only position; and 3) a document they have written supporting their revised calendar with new names for the months of the year and days of the week. That action on their part completely contradicts what they previously claimed the Lord commanded them. Now it seems they are going against what they claim He commanded them, and they are responding to me. It is confusion.

Finally, to further validate a point I made earlier in this article about directive prophecy, please note that in this instance, TGRM used a directive prophecy to tell the Filipino sister to start a church for them in the Philippines, then they used directive prophecy to tell her why they never responded to this article of mine when she asked about it, and finally they apparently used a directive prophecy to me to respond to this article.

Putting it All Together
I tried to keep an open mind about the True Gospel Revival Movement (TGRM), and was willing to believe they were genuinely from the Lord. However, my conscience is bound to the Word of God, and it is neither wise nor safe to go against conscience. We must prove all things from the Word and confirm that they are truly so.

As I have examined the Scriptures to see if these things are so that TGRM is claiming, I have found numerous issues, including the following: claims of world domination, sole possession of all truth and revelation of all mysteries, Christian currency, property ownership, cessation of martyrdom, salvation by membership in a movement, lack of accountability, confusion, claims that Christ has already come back, working for the Lord vs. working with Him, husbands being little gods, the authority of the only begotten Son of God during His earthly ministry, satan being referred to as an idiot as well as a son of God, King-James-Version-only, and observing the Law of Moses, including dietary laws beyond the ones decreed by the first-century apostles.

Therefore, I would caution anyone who is considering joining this movement, or who is listening to its prophecies. According to the Word of God that I have just presented to you, some of their teachings are doctrines of demons. Please do not be deceived by them. You have been warned. And I have warned you not via my own prophecy or opinion, but via the Word of God, which is our sole rule of faith.

"I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in Him." (1Jn 2:26-27, NIV)
